I dreamt that I was part of administration on a sea vessel and I took sick days for my ailment. Maybe me and a few other officers it seemed like.

There’s a cultural event where we set prisoners free, but its mainly for show because they dump coffins overboard all chained up and then go unlock them.

The captain seems to have disliked our sick day usage because she made us prisoners, having grumbled on about productivity numbers, but seems to have forgotten about the event that would release us. She’s reminded, almost lectured on decorum by someone else. Grudgingly she accedes.

I’m locked in a coffin alongside others. We’re assured that the unlocking never goes wrong.

The coffin chain is dumped overboard, and in the moment I feel I have lots of time to hyperventilate and hold breath before hitting water.

Underwater, in dreaming fashion, I am at no risk of actually drowning, but like you might do when watching a movie I hold my breath to see if I could make it back to the surface. I awake gasping.
